Ontario - the majority of security guards make minimum wage or very close to it. Even after the all-mighty unions were brought in and guards were force to belong, the wages never got any better.

In Quebec there is legislation to govern this. Albeit wages could still use bumping up a tad but why in God's name are guards in the rest of the country, and in particular, Ontario, not fighting for the same income and benefit stability?

If people in the security industry really want to make it an option or a strong component to policing and safer communities, then they'd better get working and a far better wage/benefit structure.

Remember the old saying - "you get what you pay for!" Low wages and poor or not benefits does, and will continue to lead to taint within the rank and file of companies continuing to practice paying as little as they can to their workers! People need to be able to live with some degree of stability and comfort; not merely exist!
